Another Felony DUI Arrest

A driver has been charged with felony DUI after a St. George woman was killed in a wreck Thursday morning, according to the Highway Patrol.

Vickie Bryant, 56, of Reed Street, was killed when she was hit from behind and pushed into a dump truck, Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said.

Andrea Miller, 29, of Ridgeville, was charged with felony DUI, according to troopers.

Bryant was driving a 2002 Buick on U.S. Highway 78 at 3:15 a.m. when she stopped because of road construction at Orangeburg Road, according to the Highway Patrol. Miller, driving a 2010 Hyundai, hit her from the rear, forcing her into a dump truck in front of her.

Bryant, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller was found to be driving under the influence and charged, according to the Highway Patrol. She was taken to Trident Hospital for treatment and booked into the Dorchester County jail.

The truck driver was not injured.
